Where Stories Are Born
Join us this centennial year as we launch our "24 Black Writers in 2024-2025" initiative!
Embark on a journey of creative discovery with La Maison Baldwin’s residency fellowships, in partnership with residencies located in the vibrant heartlands of France, the eclectic landscapes of the American South, and the urban energy of Harlem and Paris.
La Maison Baldwin honors the locations around the world that impacted Baldwin's life and work. Inspired by James Baldwin's global legacy, these residency partnerships are intented to nurture creativity, foster intellectual exchanges, and amplify the voices of Black writers in the world.
From the serene streets of the South of France to the spectacular views of Georgia in the USA, each of our residency partnership locations offers a unique backdrop for writing and reflection.
These sanctuaries are not just places to live; they are communities where diversity of thought and expression are celebrated, providing the perfect setting for writers to hone their craft and produce work that resonates with audiences worldwide.
